This bank holiday weekend hosted the first ever Lowry Outlet Food Festival. Boasting a bustling food market, al fresco eating in the sun, live music and celebrity chefs, what’s not to like? Just mention the words ‘food festival’ and Darren and I are all over it like a rash.
The markets were packed full of yummy treats, from freshly baked loaves, to juicy pies, to extravagant desserts, and whoppingly massive sausages, we did very well to contain ourselves.
We went at lunch time and were spoilt for choice for what to eat. In the end I decided to go for pizza. The brilliant guys on the pizza stand made and cooked your pizza in a couple of minutes right in front of you.
Here was my beautiful pizza. It tasted incredible and was gobbled up within minutes! These guys need to have a permanent stand here. I’d be a very regular customer.Next up, I had to decide what I fancied for pudding. I couldn’t make my mind up so I ended up having two puddings! Firstly, one of these gorgeous Oreo cup cakes from the Chula’s Cup Cakes stand. The topping was so sweet and creamy and the sponge of the actual cake was also filled with Orea pieces. Divine!
And of course, we couldn’t leave without making a few cheeky purchases. We came home with some amazingly strong cheese, half a kilo of massive Cumberland sausages and a black pudding for Darren.
I really hope this becomes an annual event. We had a brilliant time!
