Nope, not the US state or the musical, but a cute cafe and gift shop in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Oklahoma is an Aladdin’s cave of all things kitsch and quirky and is a great place to while away the time, grab a quick bite to eat and pick up some daft gifts or home wares. You can pop in for a coffee and end up leaving with a pink plastic flamingo.
First of all we popped into the cafe. The cafe offers a yummy selection of cakes, sandwiches, light meals, teas, smoothies and milkshakes, and is jam-packed full of a mish-mash of quirky little bits of furniture including colourful parasols, mismatched lamp shades and a chair shaped like a hand!
I plumped for the brie, cranberry and rocket toasted rye bread sandwich and a Juicy Orange smoothie which was packed full of banana, forest fruits and orange.
My sandwich was full of yummy cheese although I couldn’t find many cranberries in it! However the smoothie more than made up for the lack of fruit in my sandwich – it was so rich and filling it felt like a dessert in itself!
Afterwards I went for a potter around the crazy gift shop to find something that I would definitely not need but would most definitely want.
