Arlington Court

Today was a beautiful spring day. I must admit it was quite a shock to the system to see such a lovely clear blue sky and glorious sunshine. It was still pretty chilly, but any sunshine must be an improvement on the recent weather we’ve had surely? Roll on more sunshine and warmer temperatures!

Today we drove to Devon to visit Arlington Court. I love visiting old country houses and castles so I’m always up for exploring another one!Arlington Court carriage

I’m a bit of a magpie so am naturally drawn to anything shiny and pretty!Arlington CourtThe family who used to live here were big fans of ships so there were lots of beautiful ship models scattered on every spare corner or ledge throughout the house.

I really miss not having a garden back in Manchester (not many 10th floor apartments tend to come with a garden!) so I’ll take any excuse to revel in some green outdoor space! It was lovely to feel the warmth of the sun on your skin – something I haven’t felt for far too long.Arlington Court lake

After some yummy cakes in the tea rooms we headed on our way back home. I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area!
