Adventures in Wales: part 2

On the next day, we went for a bracing walk around the lake. It was pretty foggy so it looked very mystical! This old stone bridge was so covered in fog so you couldn’t see the other side and made me feel as if I was on a magical movie film set!

It was so tranquil, we felt as if we were the only people for miles around! For lunch we stopped off at a little place called the Lakeview Restaurant. The lady who greeted us was so welcoming and the place was so cosy it felt a bit like popping round to your Grandma’s for lunch rather than eating out. Image

In the afternoon we popped to visit another castle – Powis Castle. This is now one of my favourite National Trust properties that I’ve visited. They had some beautifully noble peacocks in the grounds, the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and whilst the interiors were very grand, you could still imagine people living there, whereas some old castles and country homes can just seem like a show room rather than homely.

To finish off the day, we went back to the hotel and snuggled up in front of the fire with truffles and Champagne. Bliss!
